- "Only Spectres get the best weaponry we have to offer. Perhaps the HMWA? Even a krogan will be a puddle of meat by the time it gets even a tad warm."
- — Turian requisitions officer.
The HetM Weapon/Assault, also known as the Spectre Rifle or Spectre Assault Rifle, was a fully automatic heat sink-based block-fed assault rifle manufactured by Spectre Requisitions for use by Spectres. Before the emergence of the thermal clip in 2184 CE, the HMWA assault rifle was the most expensive assault rifle in the galaxy, costing a total of eight million credits to purchase a single unit. Its price matched its capabilities however, with its firepower being the strongest in the entire galaxy, with only the Kovalyov coming remotely close, and that came with good recoil dampening, a high amount of accuracy and a top-of-the-line heat dispersion system. The weapon was a must have by many Spectres, who could barely afford it themselves, but those armed with the HMWA on the field were a force to be reckoned with, tearing through their enemies with ease and shredding through even the toughest armor. The weapon was, in design, spiritually succeeded by the M-15 Vindicator, while the HMWA assault rifle itself had no direct successor.
