- "A Spectre can take on whole platoons right? That's just as much because of HMASTA as it is skill on their part."
- — Turian requisitions officer.
The HetM Armor/Special Tactical Armor, also known as Spectre Armor and as Spectre Heavy Armor, was a ceramic-based protective heavy tactical armor manufactured by Spectre Requisitions for use by Spectres. Designed for use by human, asari and turian spectres, the HMASTA armor was the most expensive armor in the galaxy, a costing a total of 400,000 credits for a single set. Its price matches its capabilities however, with state-of-the-art damage absorption, top-of-the-line kinetic barriers, and possessing decent biotic/tech protection, the HMASTA armor took care of every potential threat to a user and neutralized it as much as possible, creating the perfect armor for sustained combat situations. The weapon was a must have by many Spectres, who could barely afford it themselves, but those equipped with HMASTA armor are frequently quoted as being "unstoppable powerhouses of destruction", and a Spectre equipped with HMASTA was "as close to indestructible as realistically achievable." The armor was phased out by 2184 CE, surpassed by newer armors as the technology evolved away from ceramic-based armors to steel-plated armors.
