- "Survival of the fittest, Lemm. I carved a life for myself here, in my exile. It's more than I ever had on the Fleet. That place is a prison, and now I'm free. So you can take your lectures on my morality and fuck off."
- — Golo'Mekk to Lemm'Shal on Omega in 2184 CE.
Navigator Golo'Tasi vas Nedas (formerly known as Golo'Mekk nar Moreh and Golo'Mekk vas Usela) was a former pilot and navigator for the QMFV Usela, an exile, black market dealer and Cerberus contact. Born on the QMFV Moreh into Clan Mekk, a clan known for its skilled navigators, Golo wished to follow in his parents' footsteps to become a navigator, spending much of his life obsessing over it, with his father even taking him to the bridge on slow work days to watch him work on the Moreh's bridge. Upon embarking on his pilgrimage however, Golo became exposed to the world beyond the Migrant Fleet, and upon his return with a suitable gift had been a changed man, becoming self-centered and boorish, spending much of his pilgrimage with a pirate gang as their pilot, although he claimed they were just a rough-speaking freighter crew. The gift itself he presented to the captain of the Usela, a shuttle from a modern freighter class that he claimed he had been gifted by the freighter's captain for his hard work and service, but in reality had been taken as a prize when said freighter was raided by Golo and the pirates he was with. During his pilgrimage, Golo's naivete and curiosity of the outer galaxy, like many pilgrims, had been shattered by their experience, but with Golo it had changed him for the worst, adopting a "survival of the fittest" mentality where he began to view his life on the Fleet as mundane and meaningless, yearning to return to his days as a pirate, "seizing" his destiny and living a life free of duty to the Fleet, which he called a prison. Golo was disliked by his crewmates as he was distant and rude, and many times he had reports filed against him for misbehavior and gross misconduct. In 2174 CE, Golo was contacted by the Collectors, who had been recommended to Golo by the same pirate gang he had run with on his pilgrimage, as they were looking for twp dozen quarian subjects of various genders and genetic diversity to be sold to them in exchange for technology, specifically asking for pre-pilgrimage "pure" specimens. Golo agreed to the deal, and over the next few weeks began gradually kidnapping quarians across the Fleet to store on one of the shuttle he had brought back as a gift, brushing off suspicion with claims he was performing maintenance. As the disappearances continued and Golo nearly accrued the amount he needed however, the captain of the Usela finally investigated the shuttle himself, finding the abducted quarians. Golo was subsequently arrested and put on trial for kidnapping and treason, and suffered the full sentence of exile, banished from the Fleet forever. Given his shuttle, Golo departed the Flotilla, although he was said to have been happy he was exiled, as he was now "finally freed of his prison."
Quickly setting himself up on Omega, Golo was able to survive the harsh and terrible conditions there in spite of being alone, securing a deal with an elcor shopkeeper to receive regular shipments of turian cuisine for him to eat and buying a home in the Carrd District. Getting in contact with his old pirate gang, he agreed to serve as an intermediary to sell whatever merchandise they captured, wracking up an invaluable list of contacts and connections and making his gang very rich, although Golo often only took a small cut, content with lying low and scrounging a living for himself, viewing it as the "ultimate way to live." In 2178 CE, Golo was approached by Cerberus wanting to purchase information on the quarian Fleet, which Golo was only too happy to provide, and he soon becomes a regular contact for Cerberus, exchanging information with them in exchange for money. Pel Ladges, commander of the 21st commandos stationed on Omega, becomes Golo's main contact with Cerberus, and all deals are exchanged between them, with Golo even visiting Facility ANTONY a few times. In 2184 CE, Golo was approached by a quarian pilgrim, the first of his kind he would have talked to in a decade, who wanted to see Golo for himself, only to learn that Golo was everything he feared, especially when Golo told him he had just recently sold two pilgrims to Cerberus for experiments. When Lemm enlists Golo's help to raid the Cerberus facility to rescue the pilgrims, Golo plays along, insisting on a delay in the hopes of warning Pel about the attack: Lemm however doesn't trust Golo and raids the warehouse early, before Golo can warn Pel. After the raid, Golo agreed to assist Pel in recapturing the fugitives who escaped Cerberus custody, wanting Golo to lure a shuttle from the Fleet to Shelba to stage an ambush to capture it. Buying a truck and jury-rigging it to explode, Golo contacted the QMFV Cyniad and promised them technology, and told them to meet on Shelba: despite suspicions, the Cyniad landed, and when its captain and her adjutants arrived to meet with Golo, the combination of his truck exploding and Pel's sniper rifle quickly killed them. After Cerberus took the shuttle, Golo helped with the interrogation of its captured pilot, Hilo'Jaa, but lost his temper and broke Hilo's faceplate when the pilot taunted him by calling him "Golo'Tasi vas Nedas", his name-in-exile. Despite Golo compromising the interrogation, they successfully extract Hilo's countersign, and after some modifications, Golo accompanies the Cerberus platoon during the raid on the Idenna, hanging back while the commandos cleared a path so he could accompany Paul Grayson in finding his daughter.
Golo killed many of his people during the attack, taking pleasure in taking revenge for his exile, and when he encounters Kahlee Sanders trying to rescue Gillian, he knocks her down and begins to brutally beat her. Paul instructed Golo to stop but the quarian didn't listen: Paul, having a change of heart due to Kahlee and his daughter's pleas, and never having liked Golo due to him willingly selling out his own people for personal gain, raised his pistol and shot Golo in the back of the head, killing him. Following the raid, Golo's body was retrieved and thrown into an incinerator, the ultimate insult one can inflict on a quarian's body post-mortem, as cremation is prohibited in quarian culture.
