The Galisus-class troop transport was a classification of troop transport that served in the Union Navy from 1762 CE to 2216 CE. Succeeding the Aegohr-class, the ship was given more powerful kinetic barriers, and its speed was sacrificed for greater troop compliment, able to carry three full regiments of troops. It was argued that the Aegohr-class was actually superior to the Galisus-class, and despite its powerful shields, the ship was deemed too slow to effectively deploy troops during a battle. Despite this however, these ships were used heavily by the Union during the Reaper War and Post-Apocalyptic War, producing a variant of the Galisus known as the Mannovai-class designed for greater troop compliment, and use as a littoral combat vessel. Following the Union's defeat in the PA war, the remaining 82 Galisus-class ships were rounded up and decommissioned, with the last being scrapped in 2216 CE.
The ship was named after the Destruction of Galisus of the Krogan Rebellions, in reference to the sacrifices of salarian forces during the battle.
