- "You don't get it, do you? I'm not here because you inspired me, or because I think you're a good man. Truth is, I don't give a shit. I'm here because those scum took my life away. My family, my dignity. I'm going to take glee in sending as many of them to hell as I can before I expire."
- — Fal Erash during his interview with Archangel to petition to join Archangel's Omega Squad.
Corporal Fal Erash (also known by his alias Nakt Formur) was a former explosives expert in the Hegemony Army, a miner who worked the mines of Omega and a member of Archangel's Omega Squad. Born on Aratoht, Fal Erash grew up under the oppressive yolk of the Batarian Hegemony, holding a deep resentment for his government and yearning for the days of the former People's Republic where his people were a free, proud and technologically advanced species. Conscripted into the Hegemony Army when he was 15, Fal Erash enlisted as an explosive ordinance tech, and he was later reassigned to the explosive ordinance disposal unit of the Army, where his affinity for explosives continued to develop, becoming an expert in the field. Fal Erash sat out most of the Skyllian Blitz, kept in the reserves and unable to do much, and he was dishonorably discharged in 2177 CE, a few days after the war ended, for insubordination and striking an officer. Normally executed for such an offense, Fal got a reduced sentence for apologizing to the officer in front of friends and family, and was spared execution in favor of being sent to a forced labor camp on Erszbat where he worked in the mines for four years, using his explosives expertise to take charge of mining equipment and manage the use of explosives in clearing out dangerous obstacles. A year before he was set to complete his sentence, an uprising broke out in the labor camp, and Fal Erash was one of many slaves who managed to escape, hijacking a military shuttle and leaving Hegemony space. Changing his identity and adopting the alias "Fakt Formur", Fal Erash moved to Omega where he took up a job as a miner at the eezo processing plant, this time as a full-time job.
Over the next two years, Fal Erash built a new life for himself on Omega, entering a relationship with a fellow asari worker and eventually marrying her, and within a year, she was pregnant. Fal Erash was promoted twice, eventually becoming a shift supervisor. In early 2183 CE, his wife was walking home from a supermarket with groceries when she found herself caught in the middle of a firefight between Eclipse and Midnight, taking a stray bullet to the face that killed her instantly. Devastated by her death, Fal Erash's life quickly fell apart, quitting his job as he fell into a deep depression. Forced to take a loan from a loan shark to stay afloat economically, he tried to reclaim his lost job, only to be told he was replaced, and he continued to sink into bankruptcy. Filled with anger, Fal Erash confronted his loan shark and killed him with an ice pick, stabbing him repeatedly in the face until he was too exhausted to continue. Losing his apartment, Fal Erash was in the process of planning out a suicide bombing of the Eclipse headquarters on Omega when he met Garrus Vakarian, who had been watching him from afar and wanted to recruit him into his squad of vigilantes. Motivated by a need to kill as many criminals as possible to take back his dignity, Fal Erash joined the team, and for nearly two years, helped the team in waging war on the station's criminal syndicates. As their foremost explosives expert, Fal Erash procured much of their ordinance, either building it himself or procuring it from the black market or through raiding PMC armories. Fal often designed his explosives to be as mutilating as possible, wanting to inflict as much pain and agony to his victims as possible, a fact which disgusted some members of Archangel's squad, but his value was undeniable, with many of their ambushes succeeding as a result of his contrapions. Despite being the most abrasive and apathetic member on the team, Fal Erash ultimately came to respect his fellow vigilantes, viewing them as the brothers-in-arms he never had in the Army: in early 2185 CE, he apologized to Garrus for his initial preconceptions of the turian, thanking him for giving him the chance to right the wrongs of his life and that he was glad he didn't go through with his plans to suicide bomb the Eclipse. When some members of the team wanted to use the money that had accumulated to settle down and retire, Fal Erash was one of the team members who sided with Garrus in using their credits to fund further attacks on the gangs.
In July 2185 CE, Fal Erash was in the team's headquarters of the Suri-Kara Hotel with the rest of the team (except for Garrus and Sidonis, the former of which was investigating a lead and the latter doing a supply run) building more explosives when the Blue Suns and Blood Pack launched a surprise raid on their base, having captured and tortured Sidonis into giving up his team and leading Garrus away on a false lead as bait. Locked up inside the armory when the raid began, he survived the initial bombardment that killed several members of the team outright, sealing himself inside the armory and placing explosives along the door: believing his time had come, Fal planned to take as many mercs with him as possible. When Blue Suns burst through the door, he detonated it, killing half a dozen immediately and tossing an incendiary grenade that quickly cooked the other half, leaving them to burn alive. Running through the flames, screaming, he bayoneted another one, only to be confronted by Weyrloc Garm, who fired his claymore shotgun into Erash's stomach, and finished off the disemboweled batarian by using his foot to crush his skull. Upon returning to the hideout to find his dead squad, Garrus gathered Erash's body along with the rest into body bags, lining them up in their living quarters to keep them outside the carnage of the Kima Siege. Garrus was unable to recover Erash's body after he was extracted by the Normandy Squad, but later scratched Erash's name, along with the names of the rest of his squad, into his eyepiece in an effort to remember them.
