The Executioner shotgun was a pump-action heat sink-based block-fed shotgun manufactured by Batarian State Arms. Manufactured and entering service in 1604 CE, the Executioner shotgun was designed for exclusive use as the Hegemony Armed Forces standard issue shotgun, possessing a poor rate of fire with decent stopping power and moderate accuracy. While some Executioner shotguns would leak out into the rest of the galaxy through black market deals, they were rare, with Batarian State Arms manufacturing weapons intended only to be used by the Hegemony military and Feksogar. The Executioner also found use among batarian police units and slave taskmasters, often using them to keep unruly slaves under control and kill those who tried to escape or attacked their masters. The weapon had the functionality of a trench gun, being largely only useful at short ranges and delivering quick, devastating bucks of shot to put down a target as rapidly as possible. The design was derivative of what would ultimately become the design for the M-27 Scimitar following the introduction of thermal clips in 2184 CE, which replaced block-fed weapons wholesale across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. The AT-12 Raider is the Hegemony's direct successor to the Executioner, standard issue amongst all Hegemony military forces and Feksogar.
