"My political machinations are my business. Yours are transparent, and also unnecessary. If Rael'Zorah and his daughter were experimenting with live geth technology, then they are simply idiots, and no trial is needed to determine that."
— Daro'Xen in regard to Tali's trial in 2185.

Big Thinker Daro'Xen pav Rannoch (formerly known as Daro'Xen nar Konesh and Daro'Xen vas Moreh, and known-post execution by her alias Selu'Limas pav Adas) was a former admiral of the Migrant Fleet and of the Special Projects Fleet, briefly the Minister of Sciences and Technology for the Republic of Rannoch and formerly the first "Big Thinker" recognized by the TRIVA. Born on the QMFV Konesh, Daro was an exceptionally gifted scientist, but had difficulty conforming to the social standards her people adhered to, and while in several relationships, she never married. Her pilgrimage was quick and swift, and upon her return, she immediately campaigned to become admiral of Special Projects, hoping to replace Jaammo'Reemun, who she believed was incompetent. Despite the odds, Xen won and became the Admiralty's youngest admiral in its history, with the exception of Tali'Zorah later down the road. Daro'Xen immediately supported Han'Gerrel's push for war, whilst investing heavily in numerous projects to give the Migrant Fleet a technological edge. This research culminated in Project K, whose weapons designs would go on to be used during the Second Morning War to great effect. After the war, Xen and her Special Projects teams would be assigned to help with Project Crucible, although she considered it a waste of her talents.

Following the Reaper War, Xen's genius would later help in bringing the mass relays back online, although upon returning to Rannoch, she began plotting to undermine the Getho-Quarian Union, still steadfastly believing in controlling the geth. She secretly formed the Geth Always movement (which meant "Servants of the People, Always"), with the intention to join forces with the Retake Rannoch movement and overthrow the quarian government. This attempt at instigating a coup failed, and after a brief insurgency, Xen was discovered to be tied to the organization, then arrested and tried for treason. Her death was faked however, and she was secretly recruited into Prometheus, where she later masterminded the project that built Requiem Station. When Prometheus tried to have her eliminated, she fled to Omega, using her technological knowledge to help the ODF in improving their mechanized capabilities during the Third War for Omega: however, Prometheus tracked her down once more, and she was forced to go into hiding, later forming a tech gang known as the Armennks. However, this comes to an end when Red Star tracks her down and captures her: learning of her identity, Red Star resolves to shape Xen into a better person. This plan succeeds, and Xen travels with Red Star to Heshtok, where she offers her expertise in helping the vorcha insurrectionists to overthrow their Covenant oppressors. The vorcha did not immediately appreciate her brilliance, as their culture prioritized brawn over intellect, but Breen gave her the title of 'Big Thinker' out of respect for the planet-wide EMP she later developed and deployed to cripple Covenant forces across Heshtok.

During a great last stand against overwhelming Covenant forces, Xen was injured and gave her life to toss a grenade meant to kill Samara back at the enemy, but not before being hit in the head and killed.
