The Colorado-class battleship was a classification of battleship that served in the Systems Alliance Navy from 2177 CE to 2191 CE, and the Systems Coalition Navy from 2191 CE to 2216 CE, and was the first battleship ever built by the Systems Alliance. Being a battleship, the Colorado-class was built to withstand enormous punishment, as well as deal it. The class was outfitted with sixteen broadside 20 x 9 inch Mark 17 naval guns (eight on the port side, eight on the starboard side), as well as eight hundred Pilum-class anti-ship missiles (three hundred on the port side, four hundred and fifty on the starboard side, and fifty along the dorsal structure), four GARDIANs, thirty Javelin torpedoes (fifteen on the port side, fifteen on the starboard side) and a central MAC at the bow of the vessel. Regarded as one of the most powerful warships ever designed for the Systems Alliance, aside from the Kilimanjaro and Arbiter-class dreadnoughts, the Colorado-class was in every major fleet across the Alliance, where they were strategically placed to protect areas of importance.

Colorado-class battleships have been deployed throughout numerous theaters of the Reaper War, although they are few in number now after the fall of the Sol System. The few deployed however demonstrated significant effectiveness, being able to destroy a Reaper destroyer with little effort. Put together in formidable battlegroups or battleship task forces, the battleships were shown to devastate Reaper destroyers, even when in pairs. After the war, the few Colorado-class battleships left were sparsely deployed until their fleet could be built back up. They saw extensive action during the Border War and Post-Apocalyptic War, the latter of which where it fought beside its successor, the Colorado II-class battleships. A year after the end of the PA war, all Colorado-class ships were phased out by the Colorado II-class.

The class was named after the State of Colorado in the former United North American States, following the human convention of naming battleships after states/provinces/territories of Earth countries.
