Bravo Squad was a Systems Alliance Marine Corps combat unit attached to the 45th Infantry Company of the 212th Planetary Defense Group and commanded by Sergeant Sebastian Costa. The unit was formed with the rest of the 45th Infantry Company on 13 March 2173 CE from elements of Marine Corps garrisons previously stationed on Sirona, Ferris Fields, Terra Nova, Mars and Shanxi and assigned to Colony Euphoria on Eden Prime as part of the 212th PDG, which was seen as "hell for the unaccomplished" by those part of it, largely due to the lack of action and exorbitant amount of free-time marines stationed there had. Bravo Squad consisted of 12 marines, and was tasked with supplementing the Eden Prime Colonial Guard in the event of a slaver attack. On 7 June 2183 CE, the commanding officer of the 45th Infantry Company, Lieutenant Michael Falstaff, gathered the company to assist in providing a security detail for a recently discovered prothean beacon on the planet, with Bravo Squad tasked with securing a perimeter until Council authorities could arrive to retrieve the prothean artifact. While the other three squads were redeployed at the last minute, Bravo, along with Panther Squad, was ordered to protect the scientists as they continued to extract the beacon from the dig site, with Major Salvatore Mankins of the 212th PDG, Falstaff and Stephen Banner of Dog Squad staying behind to oversee the operation.
In the early hours on the 9th of June 2183 CE, a a large geth heretic offensive led by Saren Arterius hit the planet and took the Alliance ground forces by surprise, as they did not recognize their attackers and did not know what to do to combat them. Bravo Squad was quickly sent ahead to secure a path to the spaceport, while Panther Squad remained behind to protect the beacon itself and keep the scientists safe. Bravo Squad had almost reached the spaceport when they were ambushed from five different angles all at once by concentrated geth pulse rifle fire which made short work of their shields and tore through the squad in seconds, not even giving them time to draw their weapons, resulting in the squad's annihilation before they could fire a single shot in retaliation.
