The Bluewire omni-tool, also simply known as the Bluewire, was an omni-tool model manufactured by Aldrin Labs. Manufactured and entering service in 2160 CE, the Bluewire was a cheap and affordable omni-tool meant for use by the larger public. The Bluewire fell into what was known as the "budget omni-tool" bracket, as it was built with cheaper materials, lesser processing power, less intensive mechanics and a weaker power source, which ultimately drove its price to the lowest it could be. As a result of this, the Bluewire became one of the common omni-tool model in the galaxy by sheer availability, overtaking the previous record holder in the Radiant, which had previously been the cheapest omni-tool commercially available. The Bluewire's cheap build quality earned it an infamous reputation for being high maintenance, and this wasn't helped by Aldrin Labs' shutting down all support for the model by 2185 CE, infuriating customers to no end as it received no further updates to fix its buggy interface. The Bluewire was finally discontinued all together in early 2186 CE, replaced by Aldrin Labs' newer Redwire, although it was hardly considered an improvement over its hated predecessor.
