- "Fedorian was a great man...a great primarch. His death reflects on the current predicament the Hierarchy finds itself in. These are dark times."
- — General Corinthus.
Primarch Barcus Fedorian was the primarch of the Turian Hierarchy from 2157 CE to 2186 CE. Born on Palaven, Fedorian served in the military for sixteen years before he became the Didact. During this time, he served in the turian navy, and was present at the Liberation of Shanxi. During his time in the service, he made friends with many military commanders, including the Corinthus, Victus, Septimus and Arterius families. Less than a month after the First Contact War ended, Primarch Opinianus was quietly "convinced" to abdicate by the Commune of the Hierarchs and the Citadel Council, and Fedorian was chosen to become the new primarch. When he ascended to the primarchy in 2157 CE, at which point he had only been Didact for a year, it was done to the happiness of the military: not only was Opinianus extremely unpopular, but Fedorian was one of the most beloved primarchs of the Hierarchy's existence, as was his wife, reversing many of the reforms of Opinianus' reign, while enacting new reforms cutting down (slightly) on military spending, which was already exorbitant: he also addressed concerns that the Turian Navy was being overfunded, to the detriment of the Army and Marine Corps, and introduced a surplus granting those two branches additional subsidies. Unlike many primarchs in the past, Fedorian often gave his military commanders free rein to speak on such affairs, and was a fantastic negotiator, which put him as the polar opposite of his predecessor: thanks to Fedorian, the Systems Alliance and Hierarchy maintained good relations after the First Contact War.
Unfortunately, Fedorian would meet his end during the Reaper War when his shuttle was shot down attempting to leave Menae during the Palaven campaign. His death was a mortal blow to turian morale during the initial stages of the war.
