The Avenger sniper rifle was a bolt-action heat sink-based block-fed sniper rifle manufactured by Hahne-Kedar Solutions. Manufactured and entering service in 2174 CE, the Avenger sniper rifle was originally designed under contract to the Systems Alliance Army and Systems Alliance Marine Corps to supply their forces with a dedicated sniper rifle, but as they ultimately chose to go with the Naginata and Striker models, Hahne-Kedar instead chose to sell the Avenger to the wider galaxy, to the public, to PMCs and to security corporations. The Avenger was mostly an unremarkable sniper rifle, possessing moderate accuracy for moderate firepower, and its heat dispersion meant the weapon was incapable of being fired too many times before overheating. Mostly used as a weapon to supplement arsenals rather than be the focus of them, and by the average citizen for hunting, the Avenger's service life was unmemorable and unpopular, but still sold well, prompting Hahne-Kedar to keep building and selling them. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-92 Mantis following the introduction of the thermal clip in 2184 CE, which replaced block-fed weapons wholesale across the entire galaxy following the Battle of the Citadel. The Avenger has no direct successor, with Hahne-Kedar having almost entirely transitioned into the manufacture of mechanized infantry forces, with their premiere RAGNAROK-series of mechs used across the galaxy.
