The Avalanche shotgun was a pump-action heat sink-based block-fed shotgun manufactured by Armax Arsenal. Manufactured and entering service in 2105 CE, the Avalanche shotgun was meant for use by the Hierarchy Armed Forces, specifically the Armiger Legion and Blackwatch, due to its devastating firepower, high accuracy and manageable recoil. The weapon had a consistent fire rate of one slug per second, hitting with the force of a rocket and with far more accuracy even over longer distances, making the Avalanche especially dangerous against heavy weight combatants such as krogan and geth. The Avalanche enjoyed a long service life with the turian military, serving all the way up until the replacement of block-fed weapons with thermal clips in 2184 CE. The weapon was, in design, succeeded by the M-27 Scimitar, while it was functionally replaced by the Manganii II in the turian military.
