Alchera
From FABT
Alchera is the fourth planet of the Amada system in the Omega Nebula. Alchera's surface consists of carbon and water ice, and while at low density, its large size allows it to retain a thick atmosphere of methane and ammonia, rendering much of the planet virtually uninhabitable, its air unbreathable to oxygen-breathing species, and mostly unappetizing to potential colonizers. Alchera would be colonized by the Inusannon during their cycle, and during the prothean cycle it was the base of operations used by the Densorian Republic during their war with the Oravori Alliance.
Alchera would have remained an unremarkable, desolate planet if not for the events that took place in its orbit when, on 14 August 2183 CE, the SSV Normandy, was ambushed by a Collector cruiser and destroyed over Alchera. Following the brief attack, the wreckage of the Normandy crashed onto Alchera's surface, much of it strewn across the planet's surface along with whatever remained of Commander Shepard's corpse following his grisly demise during reentry. The Shadow Broker would later send a team to retrieve Shepard's body, sparking a shadow war with Cerberus to reclaim Shepard's body, with the latter later succeeding and working the next two years to resurrect him, finally succeeding in 2185 CE. Shepard would return to Alchera in the same year to pay respects to his fallen crewmen and swearing to avenge them, leaving behind a memorial. In 2237 CE, Sata T'Loak officially labelled the site of the Normandy's wreck as a graveyard, establishing an official memorial and banning all public access. In 2256 CE, due to the prevalence of looters and trespassers, the UGR expanded the site's memorial status to the entire planet, banning all travel. The last visit to the site was in 2260 CE, when Thane'Shepard was granted access to pay homage to his late parents and their crew.
