"Hold the line."
— The regiment's mantra.

The 3rd Infiltration Regiment (3rd INREG) was a Special Tasks Group combat/infiltration unit attached to the 1st Infiltration Division commanded by Captain Raebant Kirrahe. The unit was trained at Special Tasks Group Delta Site on Sur'Kesh and later attached to Task Force Orion. The unit ran pacification and sabotage operations along the Hegemony border, often performing counter-terrorism and counter-slaver activities. In 2183 CE, the unit was redirected on the SUV Endeavour Dates to Virmire to investigate rumours of Saren's presence. After, the unit fought alongside squad members of the SSV Normandy in destroying a geth base there in a frontal assault. The regiment suffered heavy casualities during the battle, but was eventually extracted, returning to Sur'Kesh with honors. The regiment was eventually redeployed to the Hegemony border, and later returned to Union space when the Reapers began their invasion. After the Citadel Siege, the regiment was redeployed into Alliance space to run disruption operations on Reaper supply lines and to sabotage concentration camps. It continued to perform admirably during the Post-Apocalyptic War until its destruction in the Mannovai offensive in 2212 CE.
